The Certificates for Weddings, Births, Baptism, Confirmation, and Communion come in either the Pennsylvania Dutch Style or Victorian Design The House Blessing is PA Dutch Style only. Both styles of certificates are closely related.
The Dutch Style certificate was first, dating back to the 1700’s. The style reflects the time. The colors were vibrant and the motifs were one dimension and very primitive. All the designs were symbolic in nature.
During the Victorian Era, in the late 1800’s, the tulip (very dominate in the German certificate) was replaced by the rose. The birds were changed to angels. And the colors became softer.
Both styles can be purchased blank, personalized, or customized (special order by email request). The certificates are beautiful and reflect a symbolic reverence for life.
